Hello,
I am new here and so maybe I don't know all the details, but can anybody tell me how can I open the downloads which are in the .dat format. Where could I find a program that opens it?
.dat files

You do not have to open those files! You simply have to put them into your ObjData folder, which is in the Locomotion folder. In the editor you will need to tick the vehicle and in the game you can use it!
Edit:
BTW if you are English, you will find here more things you understand:

The program that you need is "Locotool".
At the following page you can download it: locotoolIf you have further questions, you need only to ask us.

I just saw you are from Estonia. Well of course you can talk English here but http://www.tt-forums.net is also a good alternative!

Thank You very much! I can actually speak German as well, but as you are native speakers I prefer not to do it - it would be a grammatical nightmare... So Viel Dank!
But there are some further problems: I downloaded the files Neue Bahnhöfe (1,2,3), It allows me to use only some of the stations listed in the editor - if I start playing some stations just do not exist. How should it be possible to build those big arched roofs over stations? This does not work either.
+ Does anybody know, what is needed to use the ZIU trolleybus (also a download avalible - alone it simply doesn't allow me to select it in the editor - ERROR) Well, at least the electrification of streets is probably necessary - what should I download? -
The stations are not showing up for a few possible reasons. the first is several are narrow guage (NG) stations. If You dont have at least one narrrowguage train available, you can not build NG tracks, therefore, No stations.
The other possible problem is. there is a limit to how many possible stations you can have in the game, (8) this is controlled by trackst.dat (standard guage) and trackng.dat (NG). If the station is not listed inside those files, you can not play them, even if they are visible in your scenario editor. Use locotool to edit those files.
to add stations to that file is pretty simple once you get the idea.
the fist step is to make a back up copy of what ever you are about to edit.
just drop the trackst.dat (or trackng.dat) onto locotool.exe you will get a folder of sprites and an XML. use notpad to edit the XML.looks for this line:
<variable name="numstations" size="1">7</variable>the >7< is how many standard station you have (8 is the max limit for stations)
Then next is the fun part find this code further down:
<useobject desc="station[0]" class="15">PRRTOWER</useobject>
<useobject desc="station[1]" class="15">PRRCOALT</useobject>
<useobject desc="station[2]" class="15">FLATSLAB</useobject>
<useobject desc="station[3]" class="15">CRATES </useobject>
<useobject desc="station[4]" class="15">INTERMOD</useobject>
<useobject desc="station[5]" class="15">ROOFLESS</useobject>
<useobject desc="station[6]" class="15">TOWER1 </useobject>Those lines are what stations you are using for in this case standard guage tracks.(Your station names will be differant since that is my trackst.dat)
Now is the Important part. if you have less then 8 stations, delete the excess lines, The names of the stations are CASE SENSITIVE, They MUST be 8 characters long, put in the extra spaces between the ><if the name is not 8 charaters long, The names are the Internal names of the files, not the dat name (use locotool to open the file and get the name). these "usually" match the .dat and usually are all caps (they dont have to be, but usually are) After You are happy with the edits, drop the xml onto locotool.exe and it will build Your new dat (make a backup .bak). put put your new dats into your objdata folder......
that is a crash course in what is a your first XML modding
you also asked about the 4 span station.. thats a trick question, it is actually a bridge. you build a ramp up the side of your station and build the (bridge) roof over it. then remove your ramp.
You have to add the bridge (roof) to your trackst.dat (or trackng.dat?)file. I am sorry i don't know off the top of my head if it is a ST or NG bridge. It is the same as the stations, but it is listed under bridges. I hope this helps. Be prepaired for a lot of trial and error and possible breaking of the game. (i like to keep a rar'd copy of My objdata folder so i can restore if i break it)
Also as it has been said, http://www.tt-forums.net is a good source of infomation if you are more comfortable in engilsh

...Hi reisirong,
The Station Set 2 is included in Set 3, so you only need to install set 1 & 3 into your ObjData-Folder. The platforms of Set 1 fit to the original tracks (normal and narrow gauge). Set 3 contains (among other things) two new kinds of tracks and two dummy vehicles: The goods station baseplate, the passenger station baseplate, the forklift and the kiosk
These all have to be activated in the scenario-editor to get access to the new stations. Some station-components are realized as signals for the new tracks. You will find the big arched roofs in the tab for bridges. If you can read german, have a look into the help-files. I've planned to tranlate them to english. But this may take a while.Greetings
