A lovely idea to give town names vehicle names:
Would you also consider producing town names for ALL trains (International) ?
Congratulations on your first piece of loko-werk

Also die Idee find ich auch sehr gut. Jedoch ist die Umsetzung anscheinend nicht so gelungen.

Außerdem hab ich da noch doppelte Namen entdeckt.

Excellent question - as I see it the executable derives town names from a range of 6 string tables:[0-5]
Taking the ETOWNNAME.DAT as an example here are the following used stringtables:-
stringtable[0]= 4
stringtable[1]=112 **** try this as a starter ?
stringtable[4]= 24
stringtable[5]= 10
Clearly the minimum would be 112 if stringtable[1] used on it's own.[THERE IS A MAX townname in game - is it 255?]
Might I suggest just start with that, because you are not going to need to mix the strings like lomo does.

Names like "Adler" for ...........it is more like a town name.
Of course there might be a town called BR 101 but unlikely.
If you did an International list I'm sure other members from France, Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Russia etc may post thier favourites here.
If it proves popular for International train names rather than national interest - I would like that DAT file for sure!!.
That really would please me personaly.

Ich hab sie auch schon im Spiel probiert. Konnte aber nur max. 77 Städte mit bauen; wobei ich gelesen habe, dass es max. 80 sein können. Also da sind wohl 3 Namen doppelt oder so.

LATEST UPDATE - have downloaded your ENGIWNAM.DAT & renamed it to default ETOWNNAM.DAT - am I a happy bunny!!!
