Hab mich mal damit n bißchen näher beschäftigt und n Lösungsweg gefunden, der(wenn überhaupt) n Appel und n Ei kostet.

Eigene Musik in Locomotion

INFO: Obwohl die nachfolgende Vorgehensweise bei mir zum gewünschten Erfolg geführt hat, machst du alles auf eigenes Risiko. Ich übernehme keine Garanien, Verantwortung für evtl. Schäden an Hard- oder Software.
1. Musikstück deiner Wahl auf die Festplatte kopieren (Datei-Format ist jetzt noch egal)
2. Musikstück konvertieren in WAV-Format, Samplerate 22.050 Hz, Stereo
(ich habs mit "Magix Music Maker 2007" gemacht, "Magix Music Maker 5" (1999) und neuere Versionen bieten auch die passenden Funktionen. wenn du ein anderes Programm verwendest, poste deine Empfehlung bitte auf der Loco-Fanpage. Danke.)
3. im Arbeitsplatz (oder in jedem anderen Ordner) oben im Menü "Extras" die "Ordneroptionen" anklicken und auf den Register "Ansicht" wechseln
4. unter "Erweiterte Einstellungen" den Haken bei "Erweiterungen bei bekannten Dateitypen ausblenden" (6. von oben) entfernen
(wichtig für Punkt 6.)
5. in deinem Locomotion-Ordner findest du im Ordner "Data" (nicht mit "ObjData" verwechseln!) u.a. die nachfolgenden Dateien, von denen du besser n Backup machst:
(N Backup hat noch nie geschadet; wichtig, wenn du mal wieder die Original-Musik hören willst)

(Die Angaben "von" und "bis" beziehen sich auf die im Spiel wählbare Musik-Option "Nur Musik für aktuelle Epoche spielen")
6. jetzt die konvertierte Musik-Datei (mit den unter 2. genannten Einstellungen) umbenennen in eine der o.a. Dateien (vorher die betreffende Original-Datei löschen, sonst lehnt Windows die Umbenennung der WAV-Datei ab)
z.B: "Highway-To-Hell.wav" -> "90s2.dat" und die folgende Meldung bestätigen
LOCOMOTION AKZEPTIERT EXAKT DIESE DATEI-NAMEN, ABER NICHT MEHR ODER WENIGER.
Wenn mehr als diese 30 Musik-Dateien vorhanden sind, ignoriert Loco die überzähligen.
Wenn eine der Dateien fehlt, läßt sich das Spiel nicht starten.
Wenn die Datei mit einem anderen Format als WAV in DAT umbenannt wird, läßt sich Locomotion starten, im Spiel wird diese Datei nicht abgespielt, die übrigen aber schon.
7. Locomotion starten
Im Spiel werden unter "Musik-Optionen" - "Aktueller Musiktitel" ausschließlich die in der Tabelle aufgeführten Datei-Bezeichnungen aufgelistet. (Die Bezeichnungen lassen sich nicht ändern.) Wenn du hier (entsprechend dem unter 6. genannten Beispiel) "Everlasting High-Rise" auswählst, wirst du "Highway To Hell" hören.

1. Copy a music track to your hard disk (no matter which format)

3. At the top of any folder: Open the menu "Extra" -> "folder options" and change to "View"
4. in "Extended Options" remove the the mark "Don´t show extensions of known filetypes" (6th from the top) (important for point 6.)
5. In your Locomotion-folder you´ll find in the folder "Data" (NOT "ObjData"!) the following files (and some other, which are not interesting at the moment):
(Please make a Backup of these files. A backup is never bad and is important, if you want to listen to the original music at any time.)

(The dates "from" and "to" are only important, if you choose "play only the music of current period" in the "Music options" in the game.)
6. Now rename the converted WAV-file (with the settings you see at point 2.) to a filename from the list. (delete the concerned original file, or Windows will refuse renaming the WAV-file)
For example: rename "Highway-To-Hell.wav" to "90s2.dat"
LOCOMOTION ACCEPTS ONLY THE 30 FILENAMES FROM THE LIST ABOVE.
If you have more than these music-files in the "Data"-Folder, Locomotion ignores the additional ones.
If one of these files is missing, Locomotion will not start.
If you rename a music-file (in another file-format than WAV) to DAT, Locomotion will start. The concerned music file will not be playable, but the other ones will.
7. launch Locomotion
In the game you´ll find in the "Music options" at "current music title" only the filenames of the list above. (The Names are not changeable.) If you, according to the example at point 6., choose "Everlasting High-Rise" from the list at "current music title", you´ll hear "Highway to Hell".
