    I do not use in general, sand or snow options (very rare) but I certainly see no harm in producing further rock colors or more.
    You are adding to the DAT file stockpile and that is good for all players and extends thier choices avaiable.
    Nothing wrong in that at all.

    I am glad you are enjoying reading through the history of the development of Locotool by J Drexler on the tt-fanpage site under his pen name patchman.
    As I said, It does make excellent reading and gives an insight into it's purpose of design and construction and usage.
    BTW - Here is something to try when you are next on tt-forums and that particular thread...
    Click on your browsers page refresh button and you should see the fixed and animated avatar change (about 8 changes in all). :volldolllol

    I wrote YEARZERO.EXE and published it on youtube, however earlier this year I withdrew it because it needed updating.
    Unfortunately I also removed it from my Archives after completing the updated version which is integrated into a general utilities program that is nearing completion - see elsewhere on this forum.
    This program changes ALL objdata vehicles "designed" variable values to 0 value.
    Speedy -Reference your statement "Aber nicht aber dem Jahr 0. " - This is incorrect as you can see. ;( :P
    What this means is that whatever the start year of the Scenario say for example 1930 ALL vehicles will have a auto design year of 1930 if they have had thier desisigned year set to 0.
    Any vehicles whose original design year was say 1960, 1970,1980 will be avaiable from start of scenario. A fantastic experiance and loads of fun - I assure you all!
    I first wrote this program for myself in 2007.
    For those of you who can use locotool here is what you can do to test it out on any vehicle:-
    Open the xml and put 0000 {four zeros} for the designed value.
    Change the 'obsolete' variable value to 65535. If not already done.
    change the 'reliability' variable to 0. If not already done.
    then simply recode the xml using locotool and when you play your scenario you will have acces to the vehicle straight away.
    If you intend doing this for all vehicles then it may take a little time by hand ;( . :P:P

    I have had the pleasure of carrying out a number of trial runs with these new (converted existing Building) Dats.
    And my reaction is that this certainly is a nice way of producing and receiving goods within a scenario by using invisible CITY Buildings.
    The Buildings you have converted are BUILCTY1 -10 ? (I have not checked them all)
    What I like is the fact that this encourages a town to produce cargo without buidings being seen by the player.
    After several runs I personally ended up selecting a single building {Building BLDUI} because my particular games
    limit AI building developement to private housing. This excludes Offices & Skyscrapers. These have already been included in the scenario as permanent structures.
    Your Invisible Buildings have threfore helped the towns increase particular cargo ratings and maintain visible roads.


    Some general comments that may be useful for members to note .....
    When The Buildings are first constructed the invisible description can be seen if the cursor is placed over the scaffold area.
    SEE PIC 1.


    When the Buildings are finished the Description of the Building cannot be seen by this method.
    SEE PIC 2.


    So to check whether an invisible building exists on 'undeveloped land' use the CLEAR AREA (BULDOZER)
    If you see the costs for demolishing then you know an invisible building is there.

    Speedy, could you let us know what is the reason for adding the piece of coding highlit in PIC 4. It seems to run fine without it. What does it do?

    Lastly - I reccomend these little 'babes' to those who like to see their towns developing without too much High Rise / Skyscraper usage.

    Looking closely at the basic 'station' design I am very much intrigued and impressed with it.
    So much so, that as my subject heading asks ......"Is this a new 'Building' structure ???.......


    Allowing players to create and build permanent stations in the Editor making them ready to receive train tracks?
    Players to decide final size (length & width) and then saved in players Scenario ?


    The view shows a 10 wide x 9 long Terminus Station and suggests that it could be designed as


    1 A through station.
    2 A Terminus as shown.


    If This is the case then marvellous idea (I think this has been thought of before?).


    If it is not ....then still keep them coming!

    Yes, I agree with your observations too.
    It is a shame, because so much work has been done on the game.
    I do prefer Locomotion road movements and displays -more comfortable to see and more realistic IMHO. :P:P

    Firstly, yours and AZUWSK previously posted advice to joshi, stating maximmum No of Signals should be 15 - was and still is incorrect.
    What I would like to see done, for everyones benefit, is both posts corrected.
    I have noted you do this sort of thing quite often (and rightly so).
    It is such a wise course of action for members to see as it gains respect and they see posts properly updated to reflect the facts.


    Secondly, I am not legally obliged to explain to you or anyone else any dat file names that I use and that are seen in my postings.
    I have produced for my own pleasure and game play benefit, a modified dat called sigbs1.dat.
    My reason is simple:- the modifications overcome issues that I have found with the original dat called sigbs.dat.
    I have no need or desire to explain what these pleasures and benefits are, except to say they enhance my game play tremendously.


    Thirdly....I refer to your referring Finisternis to tt-forums .....

    This redirection to tt-forums DOES NOT PROVE AT ALL THAT IT EXIST in the referenced thread as WTRTWR-Z.DAT so does not confirm to anyone who was/is the originator of the dat.
    As you know I had not decalared it to be mine and I gave as much info to help everyone.
    You are also aware that anyone can rename DATS as they see fit.
    They need permission from NO ONE.


    Lastly and most importantly I refer to the copying dats that are altered/amended to members and other locomotion players.


    LOCOMOTION DATS:
    I must remind you that everyone who uses a third party design package to create png images is subject, like everone else
    to accept the GNU usage terms as set out by Mr J Drexler the programmer and designer of locotool.


    This is the the Program that actually creates and produces LOCOMOTION DATS and it has it's a GNU Licence.
    THE GNU Licences applys to all users.No exceptions.
    An individual may use a third party graphics package to design png pictures etc HOWEVER whatever they produce, whether it's graphics, variables
    the data file structure must be wriitten in a text editor in such a way that the information can be read and converted
    to enable the J DREXLER LOCOTOOL program, to read and rewrite such data into a DAT file that the locomotion executable can read and use during program execution.
    No dat files can be produced or published for locomotion usage without using the locotool software and accepting the GNU agreement as set out by J Drexler.
    I remind everyone that Locotool enables anyone to make changes to any graphics and or data contained in any dat file, including Chris Sawyers Creations and no consent is required for doing so.
    The DAT file is the creation of J Drexler and he has assigned these rights and benefits of the GNU licences to everyone who cares to use his programs.
    I agree that someone who has designed a dat will be upset if someone says it is thiers. I have on record an e-mail attempting to restrict / limit my CHECKHEX.EXE program.
    This program checks every dat in the objdata directory and if found to have coding that prevents disassembly by any version of LOCOTOOL the coding is changed to enable Locotool and other programs that rely on Locotool to function without hinderence. :P:P
    Typing errors corrected and URL (which worked) removed by me ....more terrific truths to follow the dumbing down of my CHECKHEX.EXE.

    I'm not sure where I got this from.
    With many thousands of downloads since 2004 I have lost track of where I have obtained them all. I just use them!
    My memory says it's a Plastikman creation but I cannot be certain.
    The name of the dat is USWTRTWR.DAT.
    I have just put this through the tt-forums search facility and found nothing however I may have renamed the original but I think that is a remote possibility.
    This is the best I can do. If you wish for a copy please PM me.
    I am sure the original designer would wish for legitmate locomotion players to have use of the dat file, however it's source. :P:P

    I've been away from the forums for several days and notice this thread.
    Attached is picture of one of my copy's of trackst.dat used in a particular objdata folder.
    As you can see you can have a maximum of 16 signal types in any type of 'tracks' setup.
    So if you have 5 types of track in a game then they are still limited to using and sharing a maximum of 16 signal types. :P:P

    Answer:- A key logging program is a small program loaded into your computer to monitor and report to a third party your keyboard activities.


    There are many Anti-virus programs that will check your computer for key logging activities and if found they usually erase them from your computer.


    At this moment in time I would reccomend the following to you if you use the Windows XP operating system download and run the micrsoft software llive onecare at :-

    UPDATE - I NOTE THAT THIS PROGRAM IS NOW AVAILABLE TO VISTA and WIN7 users.

    More advice :-


    1 If you can still connect to youtube and can still activate the video download, instead of clicking mouse on Pause/Start video button - try using the keyboard space bar instead. DO THIS IN FULL SCREEN VIDEO MODE


    2 Scanning your computer for a Keylogging activity is also something to consider.


    Clearly we want you to get you on your way.... :P:P;) .

    If as you say, it is almost all, then some of them are a successfull ..Yes?
    If the answer is yes then youtube's necessary 'cookies' that are installed on your computer appear to be functioning ok which answers LocoMH good advice.
    Which now begs the question as to whether you are, at this moment in time, experiencing a slow download connection between your computer, your ISP server and or the youtube servers due to demands on youtube at this time of day in USA .If you are downloading from youtube.com.
    So ... sorry to here of your plight...and do hope it sorts itself out.

    There are many reasons for the getting poor youtube download - certainly too many to list here.
    However - If you can give us the particular youtube site you are trying to access then we can try to download same - to see if we suffer the same problem as yourself.
