Absturz unter Vista beim Start

Hallo!
Nach Ewigkeiten wollte ich mal wieder Locomotion spielen - unter Vista. Es lief früher auch. Jetzt aber bekomme ich jedes Mal beim Start eine nette kleine Fehlermeldung, auf der "Unable to initialize graphics system" steht. Ich verstehe gar nicht, warum es plötzlich nicht mehr läuft. Versuche mit dem Kompatibilitätsmodus waren bis jetzt umsonst. Weiß vielleicht sonst jemand einen Rat?

Für etwaige Leidensgenossen (Lomo vs. Vista) wäre das Wie der Problemlösung auch interessant.

Zumindest für die, die eine ATI-Karte haben:

Steps are:
- Go to ATI website and download the latest suite driver/Catalyst for the Radeon video card corresponding to your Mobility Radeon (I have Mobility Radeon HD 2400 XT, I downloaded drivers for Radeon HD 2400 XT).
- Run the setup to unzip all the files in a temporary directory. Then cancel the setup program when it starts.
- Download the converter, you can find it here: http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool/MobilityDotNET4.zip
- unzip it in a folder, then run it. Click Browse to select the path to reach the "Drivers" subfolder in where you unzipped the ati drivers (in the folder there are 2 drivers subfolder nested: select the first you find).
- wait till the update ends, then run the ati setup.
- Probably you will be told that the driver did not passed the windows tests (obviously!). Continue anyway.
- Restart the computer when prompted.
- Run locomotion and see it working again!
